About Me
The story behind the athlete
Born with German roots, my journey began a bit further north before life brought me to Switzerland. My curiosity, ability to adapt and eagerness to learn helped me find a strong footing grounded in relationships that persist even 20 years later. It was the same personality traits that eventually led me to discover my passion for rowing, pursue a bachelors degree at the other end of the world and drove my desire to win at the highest level.
My sporting life started on the ice, however. Playing ice hockey was all about speed and team dynamcis. It wasn't until the age of 14 that I eventually found my true calling on the water. Switching to rowing was a pivotal moment; trading skates for a sliding seat opened up a new world of endurance, technical precision and physical resilience. Although success came anything but fast, each stroke fueled my passion to push further.
Today, I compete on the international stage, representing Switzerland with pride. From World Cups to European Championships, and ultimately the Olympic Games, my career has been defined by a relentless pursuit in the spirit of the Olympic motto: Faster, Higher, Stronger - Together. The results within my palmares are neither just numbers nor simple placements, but milestones in a lifelong journey of dedication, proving that with enough drive, you can reach the levels in sport you might've once not believed possible.
